Austin Adult Intensive Outpatient Program Overview

Treatment consists primarily of group education and group and individual therapy all grounded in 12-step principles.

Groups typically hold 8-12 patients allowing for individualized care. We utilize a variety of evidence-based treatment methods including but not limited to CBT, Experiential, Relapse Prevention, and 12 Steps.

Family members are involved through family counseling sessions and are invited to attend Alanon at our facility on Wednesday nights at 7:30 pm.

Each patient receives individualized treatment and continuing care plans.

In Person and Virtual Services

At Solutions, two separate Intensive Outpatient groups allow us to address the individual need of the patient. We assist our patients to:

  • Develop and enhance skills to lead a substance-free life;
  • Transition to outpatient services for those coming from a higher level of care;
  • Understand relapse and learn to intervene in the process before returning to active addiction;
  • Build recovery resilience skills;
  • Integrate into 12 Step recovery and other peer support; and/or
  • Address the special needs of emerging adults seeking recovery.

The scope, content, and duration of treatment are determined on an individual basis. Family members are encouraged to attend.

Daily Schedule

Our programs are approximately 8 weeks (24 group sessions) and meet on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Each patient receives a weekly individual counseling session with a licensed counselor.

Patients can expect to spend 10 hours/week with us. We offer a virtual group for patients who reside anywhere in the state of Texas and in-person groups at our facility in North Austin.

Patients must attend at least two 12-step meetings each week while in our program, and we perform random drug screens throughout the course of treatment for those who live in the Austin area.

Patients enrolled in our in-person groups attend our 12-step alumni meeting on Wednesday nights as part of their group session from 7:30 pm – 8:30 pm.

We also host an Alanon meeting on Wednesday nights from 7:30-8:30 pm.
